It was a great two weeks, a bit like glamping at first but I soon got used to the cold showers :)
Garden extended and edges dug ready for the Vanuatu Edger (alias Steven from the Village next door)
Just some of the plants we bought locally for AUD95!!
Daniel also got us some coconuts already shooting so we planted 23!
Mmmmm, where do we put them?
Placed and ready for the edges.
Bedroom in the Studio prior to painting
Undercoat (my contribution)
Found a cupboard so that will do nicely until we finish ... beats the nails on the wall John :)
John found a Ni-Vanuatu Tiler and Carpenter who had been working for Breakers Resort so fingers crossed ....
George has just started the laundry in the Bungalow here and doing well.
Inside electrical work coming along nicely also.
Eamonn sheeting the bedroom
Ah, first coat and looking much better .... Trim and architraves to come, then final coat
The start of the Epic Edges!
There was a King Tide and it even covered our wall.
My favourite cool spot of an afternoon ... deck of the Bungalow
Lining the container with the insulation.
Getting ready to sheet the back of the Bungalow
First garden finished
Ha ha ....John's not having anything to do with this ..
Sheeting started
Yeeha, we now have gates - no more moving the fence frame.
Laundry tiling almost finished
John grabs the opportunity to move along with the next job …. completely different from building in Oz.
Really misty early one morning
Fruit from our trees …. new paw paws ripening every day
Ha Ha … Daniel and John instructing the tipping of the soil …
come, come … no, stop stop …yes, come come
Gravel for the driveway
Started the painting in the Bungalow
Tiling in the bathroom of the Bungalow
Bearers and joists for the 2 bedroom
Front half of the main garden and right hand driveway
Tiler started in the Bungalow kitchen
Then the Studio kitchen
John from next door decided he needed some shelter for the
new seeds which had started to shoot …. carrots, cucumbers, eschallots, tomatoes
Taken from our block opposite
Another garden started … so many more plants needed!
Tiling finished in the Bungalow kitchen
and the bathroom
And after 2 hours with John directing the Backhoe, they started grading the reclamation.
And look, we now have a beach ...
just the first layer of gravel with sand still to come, but looking good
It has been a long time coming, but oh so worth waiting for :)
It has been a long time coming, but oh so worth waiting for :)
What an amazing trip, finally feeling like we are getting there.
In almost five years we have come from this ….
to this :)
