The two small blocks over the road hadn't been touched since we left (now almost 6 ft tall elephant grass) and the front blocks had only been whipper snipped just before we got there and not very well! Our container had also been placed on the concrete stumps ... or should I say DUMPED on the concrete stumps .... too far length ways, crooked left to right and because they dumped it down instead of placing it, broke a stump and left the container on an angle.
It wasn't a nice homecoming and we felt so let down. Getting to the point where it is all too hard .... nothing is easy. John spent the whole two weeks tidying up ... whipper snipping, poisoning, digging. He organised a crane to come and lift the container off the broken stumps and PLACE it on the other set of stumps .... YAY, that's what it is supposed to look like :)
Right at the end of our time here, John met Daniel who lives in the village next door. Just a chat here or there but seems Daniel has his own whipper snipper so we've given him a chance (as we have a lot of others before him) and see how he goes doing a bit of work for us. Good sign that he had his own gear so fingers crossed.
No pics of the disaster ... too hard to look at once, didn't want to be reminded of it. But after a lot of hard work by John, by the time we left, it was again looking good and one container placed correctly.
Friendly little critter back at Vila Chaumieres
